Food

As you travel around the Kingdom of Fife, you cannot help but notice the abundance of fertile farmland the area has to offer. And through the villages of the East Neuk of Fife, if you get up early enough, you can watch the catch of the day being unloaded from the busy local fishing boats.

With such a natural larder to hand, it is little wonder there are so many superb places to eat throughout Fife. From exclusive, intimate restaurants to friendly cafes, teashops and bars - you will definitely find somewhere to suit your taste, style and budget in the Kingdom.

'The Kingdom of Fife has the largest amount of award winning restaurants in Scotland. This is in no small part due to the fantastic quality of seafood, organic produce and high quality farming that takes place all over Fife.'

                                                                                                           Nick White, Inn at Lathones

Fife is well known for its good quality, fresh, local produce. Straight from the field, sea or kitchen - there is no better place to see what Fife has to offer than by visiting a Farmers' Market. With everything from beef to locally farmed water buffalo, cheese to smokies or tomatoes to home baking - you will delight at the array of goods on sale in Fife.

Farmers' markets are held:

1st Saturday of every month in St Andrews (Argyle Street Car Park)
2nd Saturday of every month in Dunfermline (Glen Gates, Bridge Street)
3rd Saturday of every month in Cupar (Bonnygate Car Park)
Last Saturday of every month in Kirkcaldy (Town Square)
