Order our new Accommodation Brochure - packed full of the best places to stay in Fife.
As of midnight on Sunday 10th February, coming to Fife over either the iconic Forth Road Bridge or Tay Road Bridge will no longer be preceded by the mad fumble to find enough change to pay at the tollbooths.
From the 11th February both bridge tolls of 80p & £1 respectively will no longer be charged on entry to Fife.
On the Tay crossing, new measures will be put in place to ensure that traffic can be managed effectively in the event of emergencies & breakdowns. Both approaches to the Bridge going Southbound towards Fife have been reduced to single lanes and have temporary traffic lights which will be in operation to assist in traffic control as the Tollbooths are removed which is thought to last between 4 to 6 weeks.
Northbound on the Forth Crossing, 2 free flowing lanes have been brought into force with work on the remodelling of the Toll plaza expected to last until May 2008.
