Due to the recent abolition of tolls on the Forth Bridge - drivers are being warned to expect some delays on the northbound approach to the bridge while the Toll Plaza is remodeled.
Work includes the removal of the toll booths in a two phased approach, the installation of new set of signs and the widening of the ramp from the Echline roundabout which will accommodate the new bus priority lane.
Work is underway and is expected to be completed by May 2008.

New plans have been unveiled that aim to limit delays during episodes of major roadworks on the Forth Road Bridge. The next set of roadworks are planned to begin in April 2009 and would usually cause heavy disruption to those using the bridge. Under new plans, "mini bridges" would be built over 80m sections of the existing carriageway, allowing motorists to continue to drive on the bridge while work continued below.
For more details on these proposals, as well as other information on the bridge, please visit the Forth Estuary Transport Authority's website at www.feta.gov.uk.
